The woods offer a serene escape into nature. Southey Wood, part of the Rockingham Forest, is a conifer plantation that features a variety of exotic trees and provides a habitat for diverse bird species. Meanwhile, Thorpe Wood is an ancient woodland with a rich understorey of hazel and field maple, managed through traditional coppicing, and is known for its spring display of bluebells and wild garlic. These woods not only serve as a haven for wildlife but also offer peaceful retreats for nature lovers and hikers alike.
